Reticulocyte Count (R/C count)

A complete blood count (CBC) is a blood test. It gives your provider information about your blood and overall health. CBCs help providers diagnose, monitor and screen for a wide range of diseases, conditions, disorders and infections. Your provider takes a sample of blood and your lab results are usually ready within a few days.

The Complete Blood Count (CBC) is a blood test used to evaluate overall health and detect a wide range of disorders, including anemia, infection, and many other diseases. It measures several components and features of your blood, including red blood cells, white blood cells, hemoglobin, hematocrit, and platelets. (ESR) test measures how quickly red blood cells settle at the bottom of a test tube containing a blood sample. A faster-than-normal rate may indicate inflammation in the body.

Indication: Measures hemoglobin concentration to detect anemia. Why it's needed: A routine and essential test for identifying anemia, blood loss, or polycythemia.

The Complete Blood Count (CBC) with Peripheral Blood Film (PBF) test is a comprehensive blood test that evaluates overall health by measuring different blood components, including red blood cells (RBCs), white blood cells (WBCs), hemoglobin, hematocrit, and platelets. The Peripheral Blood Film (PBF) provides a detailed microscopic examination of blood cells to detect abnormalities in shape, size, or structure, helping diagnose infections, anemia, blood disorders, and certain cancers.

Indication: Measures eosinophils, a type of white blood cell. Why it's needed: Elevated in allergic reactions, parasitic infections, or asthma.

A high ESR value may indicate infections, autoimmune diseases, chronic inflammatory conditions, or cancers. It is commonly used to monitor the progress or response to treatment in conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, temporal arteritis, and systemic lupus erythematosus. Factors such as age, pregnancy, and anemia can also affect ESR levels.

The Differential Leukocyte Count (DLC) test measures the percentage of different white blood cells in the blood—neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils, and basophils. It helps diagnose infections, allergies, immune disorders, and blood cancers. It's a key part of evaluating immune system function.

Indication: Measures number of platelets (thrombocytes) in blood. Why it's needed: Essential for assessing bleeding risk, bone marrow function, or clotting disorders.
